The Yazgan winery was founded in 1943 by Hüseyin Yazgan, who was born in Greece but relocated to Turkey in the 1923 population exchange. His three children have run the business since 1978, increasingly aided by the third and fourth generations of the family. The winery has
undergone successive phases of expansion and investment since the beginning, the most recent being a major modernisation of the facilities in 1999.Each grape variety here comes from a different side of the country. The Emir is grown in the eastern half of Turkey, in the high-altitude Cappadocia region. The Sultaniye is grown in Denizli, about a hundred miles from the Aegean coast. The must was fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks,
and no oak was used before the wine was bottled.A gently aromatic wine offering aromas of flowers, grapes and a touch of exotic spice. The palate is dry and medium-bodied, with a round yet refreshing feel in the mouth.
