“Luscious and delicious wine that sells for an outrageously low price” - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate

Bodegas Borsao was establised in 2001 and is a collection of three of the most progressive co-operative cellars in the Campo de Borja zone southeast of Rioja. Grapes come from 620 member growers covering 2,500 hectares, nearly a third of the region's total. Vineyards lie in the undulating foothills of the Moncayo mountain, up to 700m above sea level. In this rather severe and arid climate, with hot dry days and cool nights, Garnacha thrives and represents 70% of total production.

Juicy brambly fruit and fresh redcurrants dominate this generous easy drinking red. Soft tannins, good acidity and a hint of spiciness make an extremely approachable and versatile wine. Great with meat (especially slow-cooked pork belly), pasta or hard cheese.

“If there’s a better-value red wine style in the world – a better yield of fruit flavour per pound – than the absurdly underpriced old-vine garnachas of the Campo de Borja region of Aragon in northern Spain, I’ve yet to find it. Wines such as Bodegas Borsao Garnacha 2015  ….have so much more about them than the sweetened alcoholic Ribena that so often passes for wine at the £5 to £6 level these days.” - David Williams, The Guardian, 15th January 2017
