Domaine Naturaliste is the new Margaret River venture from award-winning winemaker Bruce Dukes. Bruce has over 25 years of winemaking experience in some of the world's best wineries, most notably Francis Ford Coppola's iconic Niebaum-Coppola winery in the Napa Valley. Setting out on his own in 2012, Dukes' Domaine Naturaliste wines are characterised by their softness, perfume and texture; rapidly earning a reputation for wines of superb quality and subsequently a 5* winery rating from Australian wine specialist James Halliday.
This is a wonderfully well made Chardonnay with flavours reminiscent of crème brulee and candied citrus peel with a background of buttery, toasty oak. The palate is rich with a soft, creamy texture, it is a perfectly balanced wine expressing intensity and layered complexity promising further evolution over time. Drink now or over the 3-4 years, this will match perfectly with creamy chicken dishes.
"Biscuity creamy oak, very well integrated. Juicy and vivid acidity. A marvellously complete, seductive, classy wine." - International Wine Challenge 2015
"Promotes itself (on the back label) as rich with butterscotch and French oak but it's more refined than it makes out. Better to over- than under-deliver in this regard...there's power here, coiled, green melon and white peach, oatmeal and toasty oak keeping a close eye. It will venture out in its own sweet time." - 94pts James Halliday's Wine Companionmore ↓ less ↑
