Zorzal has been dedicated to the production of high-quality wines since 2008. Zorzal belongs to the Michelini brothers, who are outstanding in their passionate, personal leadership in the work of the vineyards and winery.
Gualtallary, where Zorzal wines come from, is in one of Argentina's most outstanding vine-growing valleys, the Uco Valley. Gualtallary is situated at 1,350 metres above sea-level in the highest vine-growing zone in the Province of Mendoza, at the foot of Tupungato volcano, one of the highest peaks in the Andes. This zone is characterized by its combination of altitude, alluvial soils, sunny days, low rainfall and wide temperature range. The combination of cool climate and chalky soils gives us wines with great structure and delicious acidity.
"Delicately perfumed, with fresh herbs, blueberries as well as white pepper and floral notes. Well-structured, opulent and concentrated with a pleasant sour cherry sweetness, finely grained tannins, a velvety texture and an enlivening acidity. A very modern and exquisite terroir wine from Gualtallary with a lot of character." - 95pts, Decanter Magazine
“It shows a mixture of herbal and candied berry aromas, hints of beef blood and iron. The absence of oak shows the naked tannins and provides an earthy side, which to me is very much the wild character of Gualtallary." - 93 pts, Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, 30/12/16
“Rounded, appealing and sweet with nice juiciness and some fine spicy notes. Quite textured with a green herby hint to the sweet berry fruits. Has some grip on the finish” - Jamie Goode, WineAnorak 23/12/16
